3M™ Tape Primer 94 is an adhesion promoter for use in conjunction with 3M™ VHB™ Tape that supports adhesion to critical substrates such as PE, PP, ABS, PET/PBT blends, concrete, wood, glass, metal and painted metal surfaces.

Primer 3M™ 94: how to use

Shake the primer before using it; apply a thin and uniform layer, using the minimum amount of product to treat the surface; allow to dry for 10 minutes or until the surface becomes shiny. For best results, apply double-sided tape. Porous surfaces require 2 applications of primer 3M 94 to obtain a uniform coverage and good adhesion; let the first layer dry well and then proceed with the application of the second one. The primer can be applied by spraying, with brush or knurled roller. 3M 94 primer can be removed with isopropyl alcohol; sometimes, it is necessary to rub vigorously. Contaminated surfaces should be cleaned with a 50:50 solution of isopropyl alcohol and water, and a clean lint-free cloth should be used to pass it over the surface.

Recommended applications

Can be used to promote the adhesion of tapes with acrylic-based adhesives to polyethylene, polypropylene, ABS, mixtures of PET/PBT, rubber, cement, wood, glass, bare metal and painted metal surfaces. Strictly follow the manufacturer’s instructions when handling and using solvents.
